Adjust your clock this weekend

27 September 2019

Set clocks ahead one hour before bed Saturday night.

This weekend, daylight saving starts when clocks are set forward by 1 hour at 2am on Sunday 29 September 2019.

At 2:00am this Sunday clocks are turned forward 1 hour to 3:00am local standard time.

SouthSeas Healthcare are using the daylight saving time switch to remind their clients about their medical appointments.

While the clocks on most digital devices update automatically, the hour change can inadvertently affect health and mood through losing an hour of sleep.

We advise our families and clients to make sure they reset their clocks an hour forward before they go to bed on Saturday night and head to bed an hour early. While it’s a seemingly minor transition, that hour forward can affect the start of your week.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand are also advising Kiwis to test their smoke alarms.

Daylight saving time starts this Sunday, so remember to set your clock forward an hour.
