Daylight saving begins this weekend

01 April 2020

Turn your clocks back 1 hour when you go to bed this Saturday.

Daylight saving time starts this weekend, so remember to set your clock backwards by 1 hour.

On Sunday, 5 April 2020, 3:00am clocks are turned backwards 1 hour to Sunday, 5 April 2020, 2:00am local standard time.

Sunrise and sunset will be 1 hour earlier from 5 April 2020, giving us more light in the morning.

While the clocks on most digital devices update automatically, body clock transitions can be difficult. The hour change can inadvertently affect health, mood and cause sleep deprivation.

We advise our patients to make sure they reset their clocks an hour backwards before they go to bed on Saturday night. While it’s a seemingly minor transition, you should be aware that this hour change can affect the start of your week.
