End of year pool party for our youth
11 January 2019
Summer is truly on and there is nothing kids like more than getting wet.
To celebrate, SouthSeas Healthcare hosted a Pacific Aloha pool party before the end of 2018 at the Otara Recreational pool for young people involved in the SouthSeas Healthcare Life Launch and Resilience Young People programmes.
“We celebrated with a splash, Pacific style, to end 2018 by acknowledging our young people and youths’ contribution to our work,” says Shaun Tautali SouthSeas Public Health Team Leader.
Shaun says the pool party signifies SouthSeas community spirit at the end of the year, which provides safety, fun education, and further promotes the healthy activity of swimming.
“This is our way of giving back and to say thank you to our youth.”
“Youth voice plays a crucial role in our work and we always do our best to ensure we do as much as we can to support young people and youth, with the work we do playing a vital role in this.”
“It was an epic pool party and everyone had a good time. We are looking forward to working more with our youth this year,” says Shaun.
Parents of youth involved spoke about how wonderful the programmes are and the positive impact they have had on their children who have been attending the programme for over a year now.
The pool party culminated in a prize giving acknowledging the amazing contributions made by young people to SouthSeas work.
The Life Launch and Resilient Young People programmes offer a range of activities supporting youth health and leadership mentoring. For more information about these programmes, contact Caleb Va'a on 0276226212 or Shaun Tautali on 0276226210.
