JUNE was Men’s Health Month!
09 July 2018
June was the month to commemorate Men's Health, an annual awareness campaign dedicated to education and activities based on the health and wellbeing of men and boys.
SouthSeas Healthcare joined other organisations around the country in recognising Men's Health Month, a time for awareness and getting men and boys talking about their health concerns, and engaging them in health conversations.
Men's Health Month included planned activities around the country focusing on the health and well-being of boys, men, and their families.
These awareness periods are important in helping to educate the public about health issues and disparities impacting men. From awareness programmes to chronic illness understanding, June was the month of engagement for boys and men to make them aware of their health and encourage them to engage with their medical providers.
SouthSeas Healthcare recognised the importance of Men's Health Month by engaging with male staff, to give them the opportunity to encourage men and boys in their programmes to seek regular medical advice and early treatment for disease and injury.
To talk openly on men’s health problems, SouthSeas organised a Men’s Health breakfast for staff as a networking event and to celebrate Men's Health month.
Awareness and early intervention are key in the discussion. Most chronic diseases impacting men can be prevented early, stemming from talking amongst themselves and having open conversations about issues affecting them.
Men's Health Month is a great awareness and education period to encourage men to make their health a priority.
