Navigating from the heart
04 November 2019
SouthSeas Healthcare will be represented at the upcoming Pacific Whānau Ora ‘Navigating from the Heart’ conference being held 14th – 15th November 2019 at the Holiday Inn Auckland Airport Hotel, Auckland.
This is the 4th Annual Whānau Ora Conference, with a focus on the last 5-years of Whānau Ora commissioning work and will highlight the new innovative way of working, the experiences so far with the commissioning model and reflections on the future.
The conference will affirm the next steps in the Whānau Ora journey, working in partnership with families, as it empowers them as a whole, rather than focusing separately on the individual and their problems.
SouthSeas Healthcare, among other Pacific partner-organisations under the umbrella of Pasifika Futures as the commissioning agency, has engaged with 81,000 people nationwide and over 15,500 families.
SouthSeas has been the initial provider of Pacific Whānau Ora services since the programme was initiated in 2014.
The upcoming conference also provides an opportunity to hear whānau stories about inspirational journeys.
The theme “Navigating from the heart” speaks of the need to demonstrate compassion, caring and courage when working alongside families and communities to enable them to find their own solutions to the challenges they face.
