Pacific GPs honoured

SouthSeas Healthcare would like to extend their heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Tupa’i and Dr. Hussein’s outstanding contributions. Both have been recognised at the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners annual conference, held recently at Auckland’s Aotea Centre.
Samoan General Practitioner (GP), Dr. Alainuanua Tupa’i was recognised for her outstanding contribution to general practice, and Fijian-Indian GP Shabrina Hussein, currently stationed at the Westview Medical Centre in Glen Eden was recognised as a new Fellow of the College.
Dr. Tupai has spent the last 16 years working as a GP at Bader Drive Doctors in Mangere and is one of only two New Zealand GPs to receive the prestigious Community Service Medal.
She is the Clinical Lead for the Alliance Health Plus PHO, and is a member of the Counties Manukau Clinical Leadership Group.
The College is committed to supporting the GP workforce in improving health outcomes for Pacific communities in New Zealand.
Congratulations to both Dr Tupai and Dr Hussein.
