MYSTORY intern Robin Kapeteni, 20, a youth leader from Manurewa, South Auckland and integral to the development and delivery of MYSTORY, a project designed to give space to young people to share their stories is the recipient of the 2019 Pacific Emerging Leadership Youth Award at the SunPix Pacific Peoples Awards held on Friday 8 November at the ASB Showgrounds, Auckland.

Robin has contributed a youth rainbow voice and connected the rainbow community to this initiative, sharing her story with more than 200 young people throughout South Auckland. She is one of the eleven MYSTORY youth interns and a champion leader for the MYSTORY initiative. In June, Robin was recognised at the New Zealand Youth Awards, being the recipient of the Mahi Tahi - Collective Award presented by Minister for Youth Hon Peeni Henare at a celebration event held in Parliament.

The Pacific Emerging Leadership Youth Award recognises Pacific Youth Leadership and the valuable foundation Pacific Youth Leadership creates for the future. Nominees need to be aged between 16 and 23.

2019 is the fifth year of the SunPix Pacific Peoples Awards, where 12 outstanding Pacific people are recognised for their contribution to New Zealand society.
