Dr Loana Tanielu
Dr Loana Tanielu is a graduate from the University of Auckland Medical School and additionally holds a Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science from the University of Tasmania. She is of Samoan and Tokelauan descent and is a fluent speaker of Samoan. Loana has a wealth of experience in the public health sector having worked in both New Zealand as a Doctor and Samoa as a Medical Laboratory Technician at the National Hospital in Moto’otua. Loana has a passion for working with Pacific people and in particular the Samoan community. Furthermore she is passionate about medical education and finds great joy in seeing more Polynesian faces in the medical field not only as doctors and nurses but in allied health services. Loana took up her appointment to the Board of Trustees for South Seas Healthcare Trust in February 2015.
