NZ Pacific Cases of COVID-19

As of 15 April, New Zealand has 1,386 confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19. The Ministry of Health reported 62 Pacific COVID-19 cases, being the lowest of all the ethnicity data reported.

The message remains the same. Families need to remain at home and continue to follow the rules and if you are unwell ring your GP or Healthline on 0800 358 5453 to be tested and remain at home whilst waiting for results.

Keep washing and drying hands regularly, follow strict hygiene and physical distancing rules when exiting your bubble and continue to protect yourself and your bubble.

If you are unwell and need medical attention, please call your GP. If you need immediate and urgent care, hospitals are also still open.

New Zealand is still on alert level 4 status. Only essential services remain open and movement is restricted.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern will make a decision on 20 April on whether New Zealand will move from alert level 4 to level 3.

In the meantime, the Otara COVID-19 Community Centre remains open offering free public access 7 days a week from 8am – 4pm at the Otara Flea Market Carpark.

We encourage our Pacific families to come down if you feel you have COVID-19 symptoms. Pacific nurses will be at the testing station to assess if you need to be tested.
