Pregnancy and Parenting Education Service
South Seas Healthcare Trust has established the Pregnancy and Parenting Education Service with the support of the Pasifika Midwifes of Aotearoa. It focuses on providing FREE accessible education sessions and sustenance care to the priority population in the Counties Manukau area.
Priority population are those that fall under these categories:
a) have not had any children (first time parent)
b) identify as Pacific
c) identify as Maori
d) are teen parents.
Our ante natal Program is divided into three different sessions which contains:
1: Early Pregnancy and Pregnancy care classes
2: Labour and Birth classes
3: Postnatal classes.
All these sessions are made available at the Nga Hau Birthing Unit in Mangere and facilitated by our Pasifika Midwives.
There are many opportunities available for you attending antenatal classes, especially for our first-time parents facing the wonders, curiosity, and fears of pregnancy.
Our antenatal classes will help explore the mysteries of pregnancy and birth. We aim to help you and your partner prepare yourselves physically, mentally, and emotionally for your journey to parenthood.
