Peka Aati is a social worker for the Well Child of Southseas Health Care. She is a Samoan matai and her title is Taumasinaseufagafaga is from the village of Vaiusu she prefer to be call Peka its easy.
Peka is proud of her Samoan heritage identity and her culture. She migrated to NZ in 1970 and has been in the Nursing Profession for 40 years before studying and gaining her Diploma of Social Worker from Te Wanaga in 2007 and later gaining her Bachelor of Social Worker Degree 2011. She has a passion to help families address health, social and physical needs as she has an extensive knowledge and experiences of working with her own people as well as other cultures within communities. Peka is guided by this Samoan saying ‘O le ala ile pule ole Tautua” which is Service is the pathway to leadership.
